Purpose of Job
Jobholders at this level carry out specific tasks independently but are subject to close supervision. They research, collect and analyse information, draft reports and documents, participate in specific meetings and develop their own professional expertise. They undertake simple operational including processing approved individual taxpayers on related systems and amending taxpayersâ accounts within approved policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop lists of eligible taxpayers for registration along with the needed inputs and assessment to minimize foregone revenue resulting from unregistered taxpayers
- Study taxpayers’ applications including financial status, invoices, administrative capabilities, guarantees and profiles and provide applicants with identification numbers in line with applicable policies, rules and regulations
- Review and analyze complex contractual and financial schemes and provide effective solutions to ensure smooth operations
- Study and analyse deregistration requests and provide recommendations in line with applicable policies, rules and regulations
- Study renewal requests, reassess new changes in taxpayers’ information and submit to concerned stakeholders to provide approvals or disapprovals accordingly
- Compute registration penalties and provide needed clarifications for the underlying reasons behind penalty decisions
- Perform data entry on registration related systems to document taxpayers’ records and ensure storage of taxpayers’ information in a preserved manner to facilitate accessibility and future use
- Maintain registration system’s performance and related databases, ensure continuous update and provide guidance in solving problems and delays to avoid disruption that might impact internal and external stakeholders
- Communicate with ZATCA’s internal departments to provide assistance and information related to taxpayers’ registration
- Cooperate with taxpayers through different channels (contact center, account managers, etc.) in order to request clarifications and collect additional data needed for effective registration
- Participate in developing registration awareness campaigns and assist in seminars in order to maximize taxpayer awareness on national rules and regulations
- Provide support in the development of FAQs, service charters and catalogues based on observation of divergences in applications
- Process and study taxpayers’ registration complaints via CRM and provide the appropriate directions to minimize objections
- Draft registration reports highlighting approvals, denials, registration numbers, rates and trends by taxpayer segment
- Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
- Help in solving escalated problems and provide needed support for junior team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner
- Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly
- Perform other duties as requested
- Train junior staff on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable
- Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/ junior staff
- Support junior staff or direct reports in order to execute their duties according to set policies and processes
